🎶 Song 128 – The Mission Divine
Paper 128 – Jesus’ Early Manhood 🎶 Song: The Mission Divine (Verse 1 – The Son of Man) At twenty-one he knew his name, The Son of Man, his sacred claim. No throne of books, no scholar’s fame, A higher mission was his aim. (Verse 2 – Family Leadership) James was set to guide the home, While Jesus let the children roam. He taught them faith, he taught them care, Preparing hearts for truth to share. (Verse 3 – Work Among Gentiles) In Sepphoris he learned the trade, With gentile hands the metal made. He saw their lives, their hopes, their song, And knew God’s love would reach them strong. (Verse 4 – Stephen Inspired) A youth named Stephen heard his voice, A vision wide, a noble choice. Though later slain by blinded men, The seed of truth was sown again. (Verse 5 – Temptation of Damascus) They offered him a school of thought, A crown of wisdom to be sought. But Jesus said: “This is not mine, My Father’s work is more divine.” (Verse 6 – Offer of Alexandria) The scholars called with wealth and pride, “Come teach with us, be glorified.” He gently spoke: “My hour’s not near, The Spirit’s call alone I hear.” (Verse 7 – Sacrifices and Dignity) No coin of pride, no gift of gold, The house of Joseph stood bold. He bore the cost, refused the gain, Integrity through joy and pain. (Verse 8 – Journey with Jude) He walked with Jude to temple’s light, A brother’s hand, a sacred rite. In Betany he met a friend, Lazarus’ bond would never end. (Chorus – True Mission) Not intellect, nor earthly fame, But Spirit’s fire, the Father’s name. His mission pure, his path was clear, To show God’s love both far and near. (Outro – Eternal Choice) From manhood’s dawn to mission’s start, He bore the truth within his heart. No school, no crown, no worldly plan, But God revealed to mortal man.
