Sides Of The North

[Intro] Three prophets left the pieces, three witnesses agree: A mountain, throne, and kingdom, and a place between the seas. [Verse 1] Daniel saw the final planting, a palace raised upon the height, Between the seas, the holy mountain, then that ruler meets his night. No army comes to save him, no kingdom lends a hand; He reaches for the holy place, but there his power ends. [Chorus] There’s a mountain in the north, there’s a city of the King, Beautiful for situation, where the songs of Zion ring. Between the seas, the holy mountain, there the pieces intertwine— Daniel saw the destination, David tells us it is Zion. [Verse 2] Isaiah saw the pride of Lucifer, the purpose hidden in his heart: Rise above the stars of heaven, and set himself from God apart. The mount of the congregation, that is where he longs to reign; Above the heights of clouds ascending, seeking glory for his name. [Hook – Call & Response] What did he seek? — THE THRONE! What did he claim? — THE MOUNTAIN! Where did he aim? — THE SIDES OF THE NORTH! Who is the King? — THE LORD! [Bridge] One speaks of a palace, one names Zion, one reveals the rebel’s plan. Put the passages together— read the words and understand. [Final Chorus] There’s a mountain in the north, the city of the great King; Between the seas, the holy mountain, where the rebel seeks to reign. But the throne was never his, and the ending has been told: He may reach for the mountain— but he’ll never be the LORD.
