Master Puffinus (Remastered)
[Spoken word] Hark ye... [Silence] [Lute intro] Attend the tale of a young lad who did discover a magic pipe, that summoned him on a long journey both marvelous and treacherous. [intro] O, Master Puffinus! Who standeth thy friend when trials grow rough? Master Puffinus, He doth nought by halves, for he ne'er doth enough. [verse 1] Upon a faire midsummer's morn, A lad with enchanted pipe so bright, Did spy a bark through sea-mist born, That danced upon ye waves of light. "Come sport with me, Iacobus, pray, Come sport with me, I plead; And I shall bear thee far away, Where great deep seas do lead." [verse 2] Yet ye bark belonged to a hag most vile, Who sought by stealth to filch ye pipe; She peered from ye clouds with wicked guile, Until her schemes were full and ripe. She waved her wand with malice grand, Ye goodly bark did fade from sight; Ye skies grew black o'er sea and sand, Ye seas rose up in furious might, And ye bark sailed on and on and on and on and on… [verse 3] But Puffinus saw ye witch's deed, Knew well precisely what to do; He saw ye lad's most desperate need, And called his brave and trusty crew. As oft they'd practiced for that day, They launched despite ye raging gale — And off to save ye lad flew they, But who should first o'er foe prevail? [verse 4] Now washed upon ye rocky shore, Good Puffinus had saved the day; Which vexed ye hag and grieved her sore, And shrieking loud, she fled away! [chorus] O, Master Puffinus! Who standeth thy friend when trials grow rough? Master Puffinus, He doth nought by halves, for he ne'er doth enough. [outro] O, Master Puffinus! Who standeth thy friend when trials grow rough? Master Puffinus, He doth nought by halves, for he ne'er doth enough! [Break] [Spoken] Thus ends the tale of Master Puffinus and young Iacobus, who found not only danger, but adventure and friendship through his magic pipe.
