The Payne Stewart Award *

A medium beat emotional and sentimental song with a male singer and a piano

Pre-Chorus
It’s more than birdies, more than fame,
It’s how you carry your family’s name.
When nobody’s watching what will they see?
The measure of a champion’s legacy.

Chorus
It’s the Payne Stewart Award,
Focused and determined to always do more
For sportsmanship and sacrifice,
Always Giving back, Always doing what’s right,
Leaving footprints that everyone can see
Character, honor and community
What you do when no one’s keeping score.
That’s the Payne Stewart Award.

Verse 2
Greet the Volunteers on every tee
Shaking every hand that he would see.
Time and kindness were freely shared,
Supporting the fans who always cared.
The biggest wins don’t always make the news,
They’re quiet choices people choose.
To lift a friend, to serve the game,
Always there to light this flame

Pre-Chorus
The finest champions understand,
A trophy’s never held by just one hand.
The responsibility of being a star
It’s the giving that makes you who you are

Chorus
It’s the Payne Stewart Award,
Focused and determined to always do more
For sportsmanship and sacrifice,
Always giving back and doing what’s right
Leaving footprints everyone can see
For character, honor, community
What you do when no one’s keeping score.
That’s the Payne Stewart Award.

Bridge
Your name on a scoreboard may fade
But never forget the impact you’ve made
We know character shines within the game.
Can mean so much more than the fame
Every generation learns anew,
What one remarkable life can do.

Final Chorus
Here’s to the men who wear it well,
With stories every life can tell.
Leading by example every day,
Long after the crowds have gone away.
Keeping Payne’s bright spirit alive,
In every charitable act we find.
The legacy you leave behind.

Outro
Some champions are measured only by the score…
But the greatest are remembered for so much more.
So here’s to our friend who went beyond the score
And to this important………
Payne Stewart Award.
