🎢 Song 173 – The House of My Father

V6

Paper 173 – Monday in Jerusalem 🎢 Song: The House of My Father (Verse 1 – The Temple Courts) Monday morning, temple walls, Voices rising through the halls. Coins were ringing, bargains made, Holy things became a trade. Pilgrims came from distant lands, Animals led by trembling hands. Sacrifice on every side, While truth and mercy tried to hide. Then the Master stood and saw What religion had become: A marketplace of fear and gain Built beneath the Father's name. (Verse 2 – Cleansing the Temple) The gates were opened, The cattle ran, Doves took flight from the hands of man. Tables trembled, Coins were cast, An age of rituals fading fast. No cry for vengeance, No sword raised high, Only truth that would not die. The Father sought no bought devotion, Only hearts moved by love's emotion. (Chorus) This is My Father's house! Not a market built on fear. Not a throne of sacred profits. Not a kingdom bought down here. The Father calls His children near, Without a price, without a chain. And every wall that men have built Will fall before the truth again. (Verse 3 – By What Authority?) The rulers came with careful words: "Who gave You power? Who gave You right?" Yet their hearts had already chosen, Preferring darkness over light. He spoke of John, They could not stand. Truth slipped like water through their hands. For minds may argue, Voices defend, But honesty decides the end. (Verse 4 – The Two Sons) One son answered, "No, I won't." Then changed his heart and went. The other pledged, "Yes, I shall." Yet never his effort spent. The Kingdom hears beyond our speech, Beyond religion's grand display. The Father measures not our claims, But what we truly do each day. (Verse 5 – The Absent Landlord) A vineyard planted, Fields prepared, Treasures placed within their care. Servants came, And prophets fell, Rejected by those who should know well. Then came the Son, The Heir of all, And pride prepared His final fall. The rulers heard, And deep inside They knew the vineyard's Lord had cried. (Bridge) The prophets warned. The ages called. Yet hearts of stone ignored it all. The temple stood, But truth was gone. The shadow stayed, The light moved on. (Verse 6 – The Marriage Feast) The banquet waited, Tables spread, The King's invitation widely read. The honored guests would not attend, Too busy for the Father's Friend. Then roads and alleys heard the call, The poor, the lost, the great and small. The doors swung wide for all to come, For God's great feast belongs to everyone. (Chorus) This is My Father's house! Built for every seeking soul. Not for privilege, Not for status, But for hearts made whole. No tribe possesses Heaven's gate. No priest can own the Father's grace. The King invites all willing hearts To share His eternal embrace. (Verse 7 – The Growing Hatred) Each word exposed another lie. Each truth removed another disguise. The crowds drew closer. The rulers feared. The end of their dominion neared. For every animal set free, And every merchant forced to flee, Declared what many would not hear: The age of fear was disappearing. (Final Chorus) This is My Father's house! Where love is greater than the law. Where sons and daughters know His name And stand in reverent awe. No sacrifice of blood remains. No market for the soul's release. The Father asks for living faith, And hearts transformed by eternal peace. (Outro) The coins were gathered. The animals gone. The priests remembered. The crowds moved on. But Monday's echo still resounds Through every temple, church, and creed: God does not hunger for our offerings. He hungers for His children. And that truth shook Jerusalem. πŸŽΆπŸ“–βœ¨πŸ™
