They Say It Hit the Catnado Energy Plant

Dub Garage / Alt Folk-Rock / rumor-core broadcast punk / 120 BPM

V4.5-ALL

[SCENE — FLOODED SUPERMARKET SHELTER AISLES] [sound design: freezer hum, rain tapping broken skylight, emergency radio static bleeding through speakers]
[Volunteer - exhausted]
Where is this story coming from?
[Truck Driver - low voice]
Exit 9. Gas station. Everyone heard it different, but… they all heard it.
[VERSE 1: FEMALE LEAD] Ain’t no station got it clean on tape
But the rumor keeps changin’ shape
Said the Catnado Energy plant got hit
When LYRA-9 crossed over it
Coastal grid where the lights don’t stay
Something cracked and the sky went grey
And after that, folks swear they knew
The storm started acting like it was told what to do
[PRE-CHORUS: FEMALE LEAD] Some say thunder split the core
Some say the wind learned something more
[CHORUS: ALL] THEY SAY IT HIT THE CATNADO ENERGY PLANT
And the storm came back different than it went
THEY SAY IT HIT THE CATNADO ENERGY PLANT
Now the sky don’t drift—it listens
THEY SAY IT HIT THE CATNADO ENERGY PLANT
And nothing moves without consent
Just rumor in a flooded tent
[VERSE 2: FORKLIFT OPERATOR] Guy at Exit 9 wouldn’t stop talkin’
Said he saw blue light through the dockin’
Like the hurricane paused mid-spin
Looked at the place… then looked within
Now every scanner picks up that name
“LYRA-9” like it learned the game
Not official, not verified
But nobody there laughed when they tried
[PRE-CHORUS: FEMALE LEAD + RADIO BLEED] [Radio Host - distorted] UNCONFIRMED SOURCE
[FEMALE LEAD] Everybody’s sayin’ it though
[Radio Host] NO CORRELATION FOUND
[FEMALE LEAD] Then why’s the storm echoing below
[CHORUS: ALL] THEY SAY IT HIT THE CATNADO ENERGY PLANT
And the weather stopped moving by chance
THEY SAY IT HIT THE CATNADO ENERGY PLANT
Now the system feels like it plans
THEY SAY IT HIT THE CATNADO ENERGY PLANT
And the sky got something in its hands
Just rumor in a drowned-out land
[BRIDGE] [sound cue: shelter lights flicker, generator stutters]
[Old Lady - calm]
Storm don’t upgrade itself.
[pause]
[Old Lady]
Something inside it learns too fast.
[ FINAL OUTRO — WEATHER ALERT INTERRUPTION]
[sound cue: emergency broadcast tone cuts through storm static]
[Automated Weather System - flat voice]
SEVERE WEATHER RECLASSIFICATION IN PROGRESS.
[pause]
[System Voice]
LYRA-9 CYCLONE EVENT HAS BEEN UPGRADED.
[pause, distortion builds]
[System Voice]
NEW DESIGNATION: CATEGORY SHIFT EVENT — CLASS 5
[sound cue: wind deepens, layered purring faintly under broadcast]
[Radio Host - breaking]
That is not a normal classification—repeat, that is not—
[System Voice - overriding]
WARNING: ATMOSPHERIC SYSTEM EXHIBITS NON-TERRESTRIAL BEHAVIOR.
[pause]
[System Voice - final]
LYRA-9 IS NO LONGER A CYCLONE.
IT IS A CATACLYSMIC ATMOSPHERIC ENTITY.
[sound cue: broadcast collapses into storm roar + distant synchronized purring]
