Risin' Waters

The river’s swellin' and the levee’s givin' way, The rain keeps fallin, more each passin' day. I feel the ground shiftin, the current pullin me down, But I won't let these waters make me drown. My feet are heavy but I stand my ground, The tide is high, but I won’t be bound. I see the storm clouds gather overhead, But I'll find the sunlight before it’s dead. I may stumble, I may fall, But I won’t break, I’ll rise through it all. The storm may howl, the skies may tare, But there’s a fire in me, burnin' somewhere. Risin' waters, but I’ll rise too, I’ve got my heart and I’ll see this through. The waves keep crashin, but I won’t bend, I’ll keep on fightin' till the very end. Risin' waters, but I’m stronger still, I’ll keep my faith through every spill. The wind is howlin, trees are breakin' in two, The flood keeps coming, but I’m not through. The flood keeps coming, but I’m not through. I’ve seen the darkness and I’ve felt the cold, But my spirit’s burnin' brighter than gold. No matter how deep the river runs, I’ll hold my breath till I see the sun. I’ll find the high ground, where the sky turns clear, These risin' waters won’t keep me here. Risin' waters, but I’ll rise too, I’ve got my heart and I’ll see this through. The waves keep crashin, but I won’t bend, I’ll keep on fightin' till the very end. Risin' waters, but I’m stronger still, I’ll keep my faith through every spill. The river’s ragin, but I’ll find a way, The sky will clear, and I’ll see the day. These risin' waters won’t wash me out, I’ll keep on climbin, without a doubt.
