[Verse 1] You came in late with a paper crown Said, “Keep the good news going round” We made a map on the back of a receipt And drew a little sun where the roads would meet [Pre-Chorus] One small yes, then another one By the time we looked up, the day had begun [Chorus] Here comes the bright side, opening wide We’ve got a pocketful of reasons to try Turn that maybe into “watch us go” Pass it around till the whole room knows Here comes the bright side, right on cue I found a little more courage with you When the road bends, we’ll take it in stride Come on, come on to the bright side [Verse 2] The bus ran off and the rain came down You made a parade through the market town A stranger joined with a tambourine And the greengrocer waved like a movie queen [Pre-Chorus] One small laugh, then another one By the time we got home, we’d outrun the storm [Chorus] Here comes the bright side, opening wide We’ve got a pocketful of reasons to try Turn that maybe into “watch us go” Pass it around till the whole room knows Here comes the bright side, right on cue I found a little more courage with you When the road bends, we’ll take it in stride Come on, come on to the bright side [Bridge] Not every day is easy to read Still, you show up, and that’s what we need With scuffed-up shoes and a plan half-drawn We make a little more morning come on [Final Chorus] Here comes the bright side, opening wide We’ve got a pocketful of reasons to try Turn that maybe into “watch us go” Pass it around till the whole room knows Here comes the bright side, right on cue I found a little more courage with you When the road bends, we’ll take it in stride Come on, come on to the bright side [Outro] Pass it around, pass it around We’ll find the bright side wherever we’re bound
