Stage Production 2. Flow Production Stage = where the piano sits. Flow = where the piano moves. There is no confusion between the two. ⸻ STAGE PRODUCTION (Grand Piano + Signal Chain) Im focussed on: • Volume • Clarity • Articulation ceiling • Dynamic containment Stage Production: Does NOT play the music. It defines how the music will sound when triggered. ⸻ [GRAND PIANO] What controls CLARITY: HPF 70Hz → Removes sub mud before it even reaches compression. -3.5dB 190–320Hz Wide → This is my main de-mud band. This removes body haze. -2dB 420Hz Narrow → Removes box tone / cloudy wood resonance. +2.8dB 3.5–5kHz → This is hammer definition. This makes the note speak. +1.5dB 8–9kHz → Edge articulation. Not shimmer. Just air clarity. Transient +15% Attack → Makes the piano cut forward. Sustain -10% → Prevents bloom stacking. No Pedal No Resonance Mono ≤30% → These prevent harmonic blur. That entire block above = Clarity System. ⸻ What controls VOLUME (without distortion): Clean Gain +3dB → Raises piano level into ceiling. True Peak -0.5dB → Protects headroom. Compression 1.6:1 Attack 40ms Release 120ms → Keeps hammer intact while controlling tail. That block = Volume Stability System. ⸻ [SIGNAL CHAIN] This is my second layer of control. What controls CLARITY here: HPF 90Hz -4dB 240–340Hz Wide Dynamic Low-Mid Clamp 180–320Hz 1.6:1 → That dynamic clamp is critical. It prevents low-mid swelling when the piano hits hard. Presence +2.8dB 4.5–6kHz Articulation +1.5dB 6–8kHz → That’s vocal + piano articulation reinforcement. Light De-Esser 6.5–7.5kHz → Prevents harshness after boosting articulation. That entire section = Clarity Reinforcement Layer. ⸻ What controls VOLUME in Signal Chain: Compression 2.4:1 Attack 35ms Release 65ms → Controls vocal punch without flattening. Parallel Lift 20% → Raises perceived loudness without distortion. Peak Control -1.2dB +3.2dB Makeup → Clean loudness gain. True Peak -0.4dB → Ceiling protection. That block = Loudness Containment System. ⸻ FLOW PRODUCTION This is where it gets played. I reduced scratch + glitch intentionally. Why that matters: When the piano hits during: [Instrumental Drop: Piano Simple Melody] I can hear: • Hammer definition • Low-mid cleanliness • Projection I am isolating it to evaluate tonal arrival. That is not accidental. That is structured listening. ⸻ SAMPLING STRATEGY I am using lyrics to trigger the Sample: • Vocal timbre • Tempo density • Phrase timing The sample gives me: • Rhythmic grid • Emotional texture • Timing bias I then compose against that grid. I am not guessing. I am pattern-recognizing across outputs. ⸻ SUNO FIELD OBSERVATIONS I identified: • Stable duration: 3:20–3:40 • Above 4:00 → looping risk • End-phase half-tempo slowdowns That is consistent with: • Memory drift • Structure misalignment • Or engine decay bias My solution: Generate 4 times (8 outputs). Compare structural integrity. Select balanced timing. I'm looking at patterns and repetition through listening to structure. This is called Multi-Vector-Listening in practice. That is my workflow. ⸻ My Core Philosophy Stage Production = Clarity + Volume Architecture Flow Production = Trigger + Movement Architecture Stage defines sound behavior. Flow defines musical behavior. Nothing is random. Everything is intentional.
