Mile High With My Friends [Verse 1] Woke up in the morning to a tangerine sky Sun on the foothills and a spark in my eye Coffee on the table, boots by the door Whole wide Colorado making me want more Got my people rolling up the laughter again Back porch breeze and a couple old friends Everybody smiling like the world just began Golden light falling soft on the land [Chorus] I get lifted in the mile-high wind With a little good love from my friends Yeah the world feels easy, rolling round the bend When the sky turns honey with my friends [Verse 2] Red rocks humming with a low sweet sound Pines in the distance and the sun going down Somebody strumming on a half-tuned string Whole porch singing like a beautiful dream Purple in the valley, pink on the snow Moon coming up and we’re moving slow Nobody rushing, nothing to prove Just passing that peace with a lazy groove [Chorus] I get lifted in the mile-high wind With a little good love from my friends Yeah the night gets groovy, rolling without end When the stars shine easy with my friends [Bridge] Ooh, let the evening bloom Ooh, make a little room For the laughter, for the light For the smoke rings in the moon Ooh, let the old worries go Ooh, let the good times roll One hand in the firelight One hand in the afterglow [Verse 3] Denver in the distance like a necklace of gold Stories getting better every time they get told One more spark and the whole night grins Sweet leaf sermon and the harmony kicks in Blazey Jones posted where the cool winds blow Feeling that love in the after-show glow If the road gets heavy, I know where to begin Take it back home to the circle again [Chorus] I get lifted in the mile-high wind With a little good love from my friends Yeah the world feels brighter, soul to soul we blend When the dawn breaks smiling with my friends [Outro] Mile-high morning, mile-high night Friends all around and the feeling’s right Colorado dreaming till the day begins Getting by, getting high, with my friends
