No matter where or when, nor the time of day, that first drink always seemed to flow just the right way. Drinking would help me forget the things I didn’t want to remember and dull all the pains; I just couldn’t surrender. First the man takes the drink, then the drink takes the man, nothing truer could be said, wreaking havoc in all of life’s plans. Try to stop or change things up, only worked for a brief time, spirits would be calling my name seeking out their partner in crime. Cork that Genie in the bottle and put a plug in that jug. There is power in prayer and strength in our numbers, which helps keeps us all accountable as we’re here for one another.
