The Manywhere
Lyrics by DragonHug --- A shadow snakes across the tents at Fluffelhug Fair. A dragon gapes. His bucket of popcorn slips and escapes, and comes down over a beaver. The bucket rustles, and the beaver peeks out. A hedgehog claps. His balloon floats free. It drifts up past the dragon and above the tents. Up into a sweep of colors, and Scales. Feathers. Fur. Fins. Wings. Tails. Horns. It is The Manywhere! The fair squeaks, laughs and cheers. Tents dance. Popcorn pops faster. Lanterns go wide-eyed. The dragon jumps. The beaver spins. The hedgehog scurries in circles. In a whirling flourish, the Manywhere hovers down, to the gathering fair-friends on the ground. Half the fair wants on. There are seats, baskets, ropes, swings, beds, nests, nooks and dens. A balcony, a spot and a home for tiny and tall, big and small, the careful and bold. Just climb on, welcome aboard! --- The Manywhere! No trip's the same! Visit a star. Under a sea. Through a dream. Back to the past. Fly between trees. Glide above fields. See a warm memory.. Blink once, you're somewhere new. Blink twice, what do you see? The Manywhere! No part's the same. Scales, tail, feather, fur and horns. Parts of every creature, plus one more. Gold, blue, green, red and brown. Every other color plus another one. Pat once, feel fins and fluff. Pat twice, what do you feel now? The Manywhere! --- There's a forest of horns on the Manywhere's head. Little baskets hang steadily from the tips. And beneath a great antler hangs one with a mouse in it. The mouse leans forward. He sniffs little sniffs. The air is warm and new. His fur looks orange, and his eyes shine. Below the horns are rivers of manes. They lead down to the Manywhere's back. There, a thick field of fur and feather begins. --- Two long ears roam above the fur. Muffled sounds come from a tuft. The ears stop. They turn. And behind the tuft of fur, a wasp and a mole sit close together, trying not to giggle. Near the field is a patch of scales. A little creature sits on a blue one. The creature taps it. The scale turns yellow. The creature laughs, and taps again. A balcony stretches along the Manywhere's side. It is filled with fun-having, treat-eating, friend-making, paw-holding and sight-seeing. Wonders rush past and gather close --- The Manywhere! No spot's the same! Visit the horns. Under a mane. Through the plumes. Back to the tails. Try the scales. Through fur-fields. Make a warm memory.. Go left, you're somewhere new. Go right, what do you see? The Manywhere! No friend's the same. Mouse, creature, hare, wasp and mole. One of every sort, plus one more. Sniff, play, tap, point and count. Every other game, plus another one Play once, meet someone new. Play twice, who do you meet now? The Manywhere! --- Not even the Manywhere goes on forever. And far below, the lanterns of Fluffelhug Fair glow warm. Familiar sounds and smells return, as the Manywhere hovers low. The Manywhere softly lands, and everyone steps off. Some run eager to share what happened. A dragon carries a sleeping creature. A mouse tells what he saw to a beetle busy painting it. And some who stepped on alone step off together. The Manywhere is showered in pats and hugs, gifts and farewells, before rising slow. Half the fair waves, as the living rainbow disappears. Where the Manywhere goes, no one knows. But the Manywhere will be back. That everyone knows.
