[Verse 1] God, let love live Let it stay in my hands I want to love people Even when I tremble Teach me to lean in When my courage runs thin [Pre-Chorus] Look past the skin Look deeper in Past the first glance Past the fear Let me see gold In a tired soul [Chorus] Heart of gold Heart of gold Hold them close Let love unfold Heart of gold Heart of gold See the soul Not just the skin (not just the skin) [Verse 2] The strongest ones Can still be tender Quiet and brave With open centers My lord, let them be known For what shines inside [Pre-Chorus] Look past the skin Look deeper in Past the first glance Past the fear Let me see gold In a tired soul [Chorus] Heart of gold Heart of gold Hold them close Let love unfold Heart of gold Heart of gold See the soul Not just the skin (not just the skin) [Bridge] If I am afraid Stay near to me Teach my heart To welcome easily Make me a place Where mercy can rest And where people are seen At their very best [Final Chorus] Heart of gold Heart of gold Hold them close Let love unfold Heart of gold Heart of gold See the soul Not just the skin (not just the skin) Heart of gold Heart of gold Let us love The way You see (the way You see)
