Jo Bench’s Devoid - 3. Hollow Remains

Walls still standing Rooms long dead Dust has settled Where we once bled Names are fading Carved into stone All that was certain Now overgrown HOLLOW REMAINS Shadows of what came before HOLLOW REMAINS Nothing lives here anymore Time consumes What memory saves We leave behind Only hollow remains Footsteps vanish Under the years Words once spoken No longer heard Empty windows Stare through the night Holding the shape Of forgotten lives HOLLOW REMAINS Shadows of what came before HOLLOW REMAINS Nothing lives here anymore Time consumes What memory saves We leave behind Only hollow remains — Bass-driven instrumental break — Stone will fracture Iron will rust Flesh will weaken Bone becomes dust What survives When names disappear? A shape. An absence. A memory— HOLLOW. Faster now The years descend Everything made Meets its end HOLLOW REMAINS Echoes beneath the decay HOLLOW REMAINS Slowly erased away No monument Escapes the grave Nothing but Hollow remains REMAINS. REMAINS. HOLLOW REMAINS.
