Oh the Depth of Sovereign Mercy
Oh what love is this That would not let us go What covenant of grace That dead sinners should come to know He died for the ones the Father chose To give Him as His bride He paid their debt in full To bring them to His side The atonement is not just an offer It is applied, effective, forever He intercedes for His chosen ones In this relationship that nothing can sever And of every soul the Father gave the Son The Son will lose, He said, not even one The Good Shepherd laid His life down for His sheep Not a possibility, but certain, full, and complete Oh the depth of sovereign mercy Oh the height of holy grace That before the clock was ticking We were engraved on God’s hand never to be erased He had written out our pardon In the blood of His own Son He had planned the whole redemption Long before the world had begun
