--- For the final song on the "album" with the persona I wanted to see if I could get a mash up of EDM and Banjo. Figured, why not? Decided to go with the concept of judging a book by its cover. In this case, the guy sees the singer as someone that is always so made up and fashionable so thinks that she would only be interested in "glamping". Turns out she's way more interested in getting dirty and roughing it in the great outdoors. ;-) So, got it put together and went through several generations to get just the right balance of banjo and EDM. Great way to finish things off! ~David --- [Musical Introduction] [Banjo plucks echo, electronic pulse fades in, boots crunch gravel] [Verse 1] You saw the jacket, clean lines, perfect fit, Thought I sip champagne and never break a nail tip. Yeah I clean up real nice, I know how it looks, But don’t confuse the cover for the chapters in the book. I like dirt on my boots, sunburn lines on my skin, Calloused hands, muddy knees, yeah I’m comfortable in. You talk “weekend getaway,” I’m already packed, But if you say “glamping,” I’m not coming back. [Pre-Chorus] I don’t need soft lights, I don’t need a spa, Give me a trailhead sign and a sky full of stars. Fashion meets function — yeah I came prepared, Just don’t hand me silk sheets in the middle of nowhere. [Chorus] Don’t take me glamping, take me wild, Take me off-grid, let me run for miles. I’ll hike it, climb it, paddle upstream, Just don’t dress the dirt up pretty for me. Don’t take me glamping — I mean it, babe, If we’re going out, let’s earn that ache. I’ll look good doing it, but make it real — I came for the grit, not the Instagram deal. [Verse 2 — Melodic Rap] Yeah my gear’s on trend, but it’s built to last, Waterproof, windproof, moving fast. I can pitch a tent, start a fire, read the sky, And still clean up nice by the campfire light. Kye-yak at dawn, hike ‘til dusk, If there’s sweat and dirt, that’s where I trust. I don’t play pretend, I don’t fake the scene, If we’re doing nature — do it honestly. [Musical Interlude] [Music Solo] [Pre-Chorus] You thought heels and mirrors were all I bring, But I pack layers and survival things. Yeah I’ll outwalk you, outlast you too, Just don’t book bell tents with a room service view. [Chorus] Don’t take me glamping, take me wild, Take me somewhere rough, let me get unstyled. I’ll get dirty, laugh loud, sleep under trees, Just don’t fake adventure for the sake of ease. Don’t take me glamping — I warned you twice, If there’s a trail map, that’s my kind of night. I’ll still steal your hoodie when the temps dip low, But the bugs, the mud? Yeah — let ‘em go. [Bridge] If we’re doing this, let’s do it right, No fairy lights, no catered bite. I want stories earned, not staged, not posed, I want tired legs and a smoky clothes. [Musical Interlude] [Music Solo] [Final Chorus] Don’t take me glamping — hear me clear, I came for the wild, not luxury fear. I’ll match your pace, I’ll carry my weight, Just don’t soften the edge I came to chase. Don’t take me glamping — take me real, Take me somewhere I can feel what I feel. I’ll look damn good doing all of the above, But I don’t need fake wild to fall in love. [Outro] [Banjo riff returns, EDM beat fades] Yeah… don’t dress up the dirt for me. [Musical Ending] [Fade Out] [End]
