[verse 1] Lord, hear my righteous plea; attend to my earnest cry. Give ear to my prayer, which comes from lips that do not lie. [verse 2] Let my vindication come from Your presence, Lord; May Your eyes see what is right and just, in accord. [verse 3] You have tested my heart, examined me by night; Though You probe and test me, You’ll find I’ve kept upright. [verse 4] Concerning human deeds, by the word of Your lips, I’ve kept myself from the ways of the violent’s grips. [verse 5] My steps have held fast to Your paths so true; My feet have not stumbled, steadfast in following You. [verse 6] I call upon You, for You will answer me; Incline Your ear to me; hear my plea. [verse 7] Show Your steadfast love, O Savior divine, By Your right hand save those who in You confide. [verse 8] Keep me as the apple of Your eye’s embrace; Hide me in the shadow of Your wings’ safe place. [verse 9] From the wicked who oppress, my deadly foes surround; They close their hearts to pity; with arrogance they’re bound. [verse 10] They track me down, now they encircle me; Their eyes set to cast me to the ground swiftly. [verse 11] They’re like a lion eager to tear its prey apart, Like a young lion lurking in secret, ready to start. [verse 12] Arise, O Lord, confront them; bring them down low; Deliver my soul from the wicked foe. [verse 13] By Your hand, O Lord, save me from worldly men, Whose portion is in this life, satisfied then. [verse 14] You fill their womb with treasure; their children are content, They leave their abundance to their infants’ merriment. [verse 15] But as for me, in righteousness Your face I’ll see; When I awake, Your likeness will satisfy me.
