The Ballad of Twinkles and The Gingerbread War (Remastered)
[Verse 1] In a cart full of trinkets, five heroes did ride, Through forest and hollow, with Pomma to guide. A barbarian elf with a peppermint Staff, Said, “Coal is too kind—let the naughty be flayed!” [Verse 2] Amaria of swamps, with her arrows so true, Sought vengeance on dragons that blackened the blue. Her cousin Brontwynn, a druid with grace, Read spells in the dark with a firelit face. [Verse 3] Kyrani the frugal, with scales red and gold, Hid magic and secrets too precious to hold. And Pomma the small with a howl like the Wolves, With muscles and mirth—an adventurer’s grin. [Verse 4] They came to a cart with two horses long dead, Twinkles just laughed, “Let’s heat up this spread!” He flung them to nowhere, uncaring, obscene, Then marched to the village so quiet, so clean. [Verse 5] But danger was waiting, as goblins took hold, Dire wolves with hunger, and hearts black and cold. They spiked them in pits, and fought through the throng, To echoes of violence and victory song. [Verse 6] Then Twinkles was gone, like a jingle in mist, But a cousin stepped in with a magical fist. The mountain was shaking, the goblins did scream— As a Gingerbread Dragon burst into the scene. [Verse 7] With frosting and fury, it rampaged with cheer, While Twinkles rode high, spreading holiday fear. The cave crushed around them, all hope nearly fled, Pomma and Amaria near-cold and near-dead. [Verse 8] Brontwynn was buried with Kyrani near, While Twinkles looked on with a heart full of fear. He called out their names from his sugar beast’s back, As snowflakes like ashes fell soft on the track. [Bridge – Quiet, Reflective] "Twinkles... Twinkles..." a voice far away, "Get up, it's the morning—it’s nearly the day!" He blinked in the light of a soft candle’s glow, Darla beside him, and fresh-fallen snow. [Final Verse] Was it a dream, was it a warning, or an echo of fate? Of goblins and dragons and gingerbread rage? He kissed her and smiled, but still in his head— The howl of a mouse, and the dragons of dread.
