BOB FROM THE BOG

[Intro, Close Whisper] Keep listening. Don't look behind you. I want your eyes right here. Good. Now I know you're listening. [Female Throat Drone] Mmmmmmmmmmm… [Verse 1, Clean, Intimate] You locked your door before you started You checked the hallway twice You told yourself you're safe in there You told yourself goodnight But there's a little water Moving underneath your door And you don't remember hearing Wet feet across your floor Don't get up Don't turn the light on Don't make another sound Because the thing you're frightened of Already knows you're around [Pre-Chorus, Seductive] You feel that? Against your neck? That wasn't air Don't check Just listen Stay where you are I've already come Much too far [Chorus, Clean Lead, Throat Singing Beneath] I'M BOB FROM THE BOG AND I'M SINGING TO YOU YOU DON'T HAVE TO SEE ME I CAN ALREADY SEE YOU KEEP YOUR EYES FORWARD DON'T LOOK AT THE WALL IF YOU SEE MY RED EYES DON'T MOVE AT ALL YOU THOUGHT I LIVED WHERE THE BLACK WATERS CRAWL BUT TONIGHT I'M INSIDE YOUR HALL [Verse 2, Intimate] There's something wrong with your reflection Look closely at its eyes You stopped moving seconds ago So why is yours still smiling? You hear three taps behind you One Two Three Don't answer them Don't whisper back Don't ask if that was me Because I'm closer when you're listening Closer when you're still And every time you tell yourself It's nothing I move nearer still [Whisper] You want to look behind you. I know. Don't. [Female Throat Drone] Hrrrrmmmmmmmm… [Verse 3] Your bedroom suddenly feels colder Your doorway looks too wide You swear you saw a woman there Then blinked And nothing's there outside Now something scratches softly From the other side of your wall Slow enough for you to count it Long enough to hear it crawl Put your ear against the plaster Come on Just for me Can you hear the water moving? Can you hear me underneath? [Pre-Chorus] Your heartbeat changed I heard it Your breathing changed I know There's nowhere left inside this house That I don't know [Chorus] I'M BOB FROM THE BOG AND I'M SINGING TO YOU EVERY WORD THAT YOU'RE HEARING MEANS I'M CLOSER TO YOU DON'T CHECK THE WINDOW DON'T LOOK DOWN THE HALL DON'T FOLLOW THE WATER RUNNING DOWN YOUR WALL YOU THOUGHT THIS SONG COULDN'T TOUCH YOU AT ALL KEEP LISTENING KEEP LISTENING KEEP LISTENING [Bridge, Almost Tender] Are you wearing headphones? [Pause] Perfect. Now my voice is already inside your head. Close your eyes. [Pause] Did you? Good. Now imagine my fingers resting gently on your shoulder. [Whisper] Why did you flinch? I said imagine. [Female Throat Singing] Mmmmmmmmmmm… Hrrrrrrrrmmmm… Mmmmmmmmmmm… [Breakdown, Clean Lead Over Chaos] DON'T TURN AROUND DON'T CALL MY NAME DON'T TELL YOURSELF THIS IS A GAME DON'T CHECK THE CLOSET DON'T CHECK THE BED DON'T TRUST THE VOICE INSIDE YOUR HEAD DON'T WATCH THE MIRROR DON'T WATCH THE DOOR DON'T ASK WHY THERE'S WATER ACROSS YOUR FLOOR [Sudden Silence] [Whisper] You checked, didn't you? [Final Chorus, Clear Female Lead] I'M BOB FROM THE BOG NOW YOU KNOW WHO I AM I DON'T NEED YOUR SWAMP I DON'T NEED YOUR LAND I FOLLOW THE SOUND OF THE FEAR THAT YOU HIDE AND THE SAFEST ROOM HAS ANOTHER SIDE SO WHEN THIS ENDS AND THE WHOLE ROOM GOES STILL DON'T TRUST THE SILENCE DON'T THINK THAT I WILL GO BACK TO THE WATER GO BACK TO THE FOG [Female Throat Chant] BOB FROM THE BOG [Outro, Extremely Close Whisper] There. The song is ending. You made it. [Long Silence] One last thing. That sound behind you? I didn't make it. [Soft Female Laugh] Don't. Turn. Around.
