[Verse 1] I knew your name by heart Before I knew your truth We laughed in borrowed time And walked a careful roof A ring is not a game A vow is not a spark So I don’t say “forever” With a rushing heart [Pre-Chorus] I hold my words like gold I weigh them in my hands If love is meant for altar steps Then I will understand [Chorus] Count the vow Count it slow Count the vow Before you go (Count the vow) If it’s sacred, say it wise If it’s real, it survives Count the vow Count the vow (Count the vow) [Verse 2] Dating is a window Not a promise in the sky It shows us what is true Before we say “I’m yours for life” And if we part in peace It does not make us less It means the road was honest And gave us clarity instead [Pre-Chorus] I hold my words like gold I weigh them in my hands If love is meant for altar steps Then I will understand [Chorus] Count the vow Count it slow Count the vow Before you go (Count the vow) If it’s sacred, say it wise If it’s real, it survives Count the vow Count the vow (Count the vow) [Bridge] Jehovah hears the promise He knows the deepest part So let my yes be steady Not a hurried, trembling heart Let me learn before I leap Let me see what love can bear So when I stand and answer I can meet that moment there [Final Chorus] Count the vow Count it slow Count the vow Before you go (Count the vow) If it’s sacred, say it wise If it’s real, it survives Count the vow Count the vow (Count the vow) Count the vow And know the why Count the vow Before “I do” is mine (Count the vow)
