[Verse 1] Found you in the hallway Bent spine One spoke bent too Handle chewed and peeling Guess someone outgrew you Little puddle guardian Folded in on your own Waiting on a forecast That never got shown [Chorus] I’m a leftover umbrella Always there when weather turns bad In the corner by the doorway Forgotten till the sky gets mad You spin me open when you’re hurting Hold me close Then let me go Just a leftover umbrella But I still keep you dry You know [Verse 2] Walk you past the bus stop Wind trying to steal the day You lean your weight against me Till the clouds blow away Then I’m back to the shadows Dripping on the tile Listening for thunder Hoping you stay awhile [Chorus] I’m a leftover umbrella Always there when weather turns bad In the corner by the doorway Forgotten till the sky gets mad You spin me open when you’re hurting Hold me close Then let me go Just a leftover umbrella But I still keep you dry You know [Bridge] Maybe one clear morning You’ll see me by the door (hey) Take me out for nothing Blue sky Nothing more [Chorus] I’m your leftover umbrella Always there when weather turns bad In the corner by the doorway Forgotten till the sky gets mad You spin me open when you’re hurting Hold me close Then let me go Just a leftover umbrella But I still keep you dry You know
