Lookin’ For A Place To Rest

I’ve been travelin’, Yeah I’ve been travelin’, Mud on my wheels, rain on my windshield, I’ve been travelin’, That long road hummin’ underneath my skin. The road is open, Yeah the road stay open wide, The road is open, But ain’t no place I recognize. Every mile feel farther now Than the one I left behind. Lookin’ for a place to rest Lookin’ for a place to rest Lookin’ for a place to rest Yeah looking for a place to rest My head is aching, Lord, my head is aching bad, Yeah my head is aching, And the gas is almost gone. If I don’t find a place to rest, I think I’m just gonna crash. Taillights blur together, Street signs talk in tongues, Taillights blur together, Every song already sung. Coffee gone cold beside me, Night say, “keep that engine runnin’.” Lookin’ for a place to rest Lookin’ for a place to rest Lookin’ for a place to rest Yeah, looking for a goddamn place to rest I’ve been travelin’, Yeah I’ve been travelin’ still, Mud on my wheels, rain on my windshield, Just one place to rest, Lord, Before this road breaks my will.
