[Intro] Yeah… From Grinnell dirt to the Colorado cold, This ain’t a made-up story—this the truth I hold. David Beason… I survived what was sent to destroy me. [Verse 1] Father walked away when I was only three, Mama worked long hours, pain grew inside of me. Medication young, anger I couldn’t explain, Juvenile doors, steel bunks, growing up in chains. I learned how to fight before I learned how to heal, Built walls around my heart so nobody knew what I’d feel. Iowa in my blood—Grinnell where it began, Newton nights, Marshalltown, running like a wanted man. Alcohol and weed turned to smoke in a pipe, Meth took thirteen years and almost swallowed my life. I lied, stole, hustled, let the darkness take control, Every rush cost another little piece of my soul. Five prison sentences, still I came back outside, But freedom ain’t freedom when addiction runs your mind. I wore violence like armor, kept the streets in my veins, Thought I was chasing power—I was running from pain. [Chorus] I got fire in my scars, God breathed life in my lungs, I walked through hell, but my final song ain’t sung. From a prison-made heart to a purpose-driven man, Every time I hit the ground, He reached down His hand. I’m not the chains, I’m not the drugs, I’m not my past anymore, I’m the Beast Reborn, kicking open heaven’s door. You can see where I’ve been, but you don’t know how far— God turned every broken piece to fire in my scars. [Verse 2] Colorado concrete, Denver wind cut deep, Abandoned warehouse floors where I barely got sleep. Under bridges, near the train tracks, shadows passing by, Fentanyl stopped my breathing, but I wasn’t meant to die. Friends became family when the world turned cold, Some stayed beside me, some became names that I hold. I lost people to the streets, saw the strongest disappear, So I carry every memory every time I face the mirror. July twenty-eighth, twenty-twenty-five, I climbed down from that darkness and decided to survive. Left the warehouse for detox, though my spirit shook with fear, For the first time in forever, I could see a future clear. Recovery wasn’t easy—it was war every day, Demons knew my history and knew just what to say. But I stopped feeding the monster, started feeding my faith, Put one foot in front of the other, let God show me the way. [Verse 3] Now I’m helping in the house, learning how to lead, Turning lived experience into something people need. Working toward a future as a recovery coach, Walking with the broken when they’re losing all their hope. I know about addiction, trauma, hunger and the cold, What it feels like being judged by every story that gets told. I know mental battles, rage, depression and despair, So when somebody cries for help, I promise I’ll be there. Fire Revival Recovery—more than letters in a name, It’s a vision born from ashes, it’s redemption from the flame. For the homeless and addicted, for the ones fresh out of jail, For the youth who think they’re worthless, for the hearts afraid to fail. I’m not claiming I’m perfect—I still fight myself at night, But a warrior ain’t someone who has never lost a fight. It’s the one who keeps on rising, even bleeding, even scarred, Knowing weakness turns to strength when you surrender it to God. [Bridge] I’ve been called a lost cause, criminal, addict and worse, But those labels couldn’t cancel what He placed inside my birth. I am more than every rumor, every cell and every street, More than every bad decision, every needle, every defeat. The devil knows my history, but God already knows my name, What was meant to be my grave became the birthplace of my flame. [Final Chorus] I got fire in my scars, resurrection in my blood, Built a future from the wreckage, grew a garden from the mud. From the streets of Iowa to the Colorado sky, I’m living proof a broken man can learn again to fly. I’m not the chains, I’m not the drugs, I’m not my past anymore, I’m a spiritual warrior with a purpose worth fighting for. Let the whole world see the truth written over every scar— God didn’t waste my suffering… He turned it into fire in my heart. [Outro] David Beason. Still standing. Still recovering. Still becoming. Fire Revival— This is only the beginning.
