Embers Know My Name The Mourning Star: Embers Know My Name I walk where the light won’t follow me, Through corridors stitched with flame. The walls still whisper what I used to be, But the ashes don’t speak my name. I laid my crown in the cindered dust, Where the past knelt down and died. I didn’t flee. I stayed and watched As the truth caught fire inside. The night leaned close and called me lost, But loss is only a door, And every scar I paid the cost To learn what burns me for. Phoenix Reborn Master Let it burn, let it bleed me clean, Let the dark take what it claims. I am not the man I’ve been, But the embers know my name. I won’t beg the flame for mercy, I won’t curse the pain I’ve known. From the pyre I am becoming Something forged, not overthrown. There’s a dream where I wake in ruin, And I smile, because I see: The nightmare bends when named aloud, And it answers back to me. I don’t know yet what dawn will wear Or what shape my strength will take, But I feel the spine beneath my fear, And it’s learning how to break. I’ve loved too deep, I’ve stood too still, I’ve knelt where truth was thin, But fire teaches iron wills What flesh could never learn. Let it burn, let it bleed me clean, Let the dark take what it claims. I am not the man I’ve been, But the embers know my name. I won’t chase the ghost of yesterday Or beg the past to stay. I’ll stand inside the holy ache Till the fuel all fades away. all fades away... Dying Ash to ash, but not to nothing. There’s a pulse beneath the soot. Every ending I am touching Is a root. If I fall, I fall inward. If I rise, I rise alone. Not as king, not as martyr, But as a phoenix reborn. So burn, and leave me what is real When the lie has all decayed. What survives the fire is steel. What survives is what I’m made. I am walking, not consumed, Through the heat I choose to stay. When the fire forgets my wounds, I will rise, not run away. And when the flame at last grows tired, And the night releases hold, I won’t mourn what I have burned. I’ll wear the dark like gold.
