[Verse 1] I found you in a thrift-store bin Bent up, but you still fit in Blue ink flowers on your side Little paper shield from the sky I took you home in the rain You shook off like you knew my name One small snap and you came alive Thin little ribs, big brave vibe [Pre-Chorus] Now the clouds lean low And the whole block sings You tilt, you turn And you cover everything [Chorus] Paper umbrella, spin for me Paper umbrella, set me free When the storm gets loud You keep me around Paper umbrella, spin for me [Verse 2] Back porch floor with a chipped red chair Puddle moons everywhere You caught the drops on your painted skin Still you looked like a win I laughed when the wind got mean You bowed out, then leaned back in Small thing, but you know your part Hold the rain off my heart [Pre-Chorus] Now the clouds lean low And the whole block sings You tilt, you turn And you cover everything [Chorus] Paper umbrella, spin for me Paper umbrella, set me free When the storm gets loud You keep me around Paper umbrella, spin for me [Bridge] If the handle cracks If the tape won't last We'll mend it up And we won't fold fast One more twirl One more try Little paper hero Up against the sky [Chorus] Paper umbrella, spin for me Paper umbrella, set me free When the storm gets loud You keep me around Paper umbrella, spin for me
