[The Eighth Survivor] [ Verse 1 ] The cold and white of hyper-sleep will open up so slow, The crew awakes to signals from a moon they do not know. They trek across the surface to the derelict and hull, A giant fossil sits inside, a cracked and frozen skull. [ Pre-Chorus 1 ] The warning is a signal that they cannot yet translate, They step into the darkness and they seal a sudden fate. [ Chorus 1 ] When the stars go dark and shadows start to grow, There is nothing left but fear of what we know. Life is just a flicker in a system built of stone, We are never safe when we are out here all alone. [ Verse 2 ] The cold, indifferent flicker of the Mother's green-screen light, Ash hides the secret orders in the middle of the night. The creature from the egg has latched onto a brother’s face, They bring the nightmare back into this small and metal space. [ Pre-Chorus 2 ] The air is getting heavy and the walls are closing in, A war of corporate profit and the life beneath the skin. [ Chorus 2 ] A hunger in the silence that will never be denied, Nowhere left to run and there is nowhere left to hide. Every breath is borrowed in a world that doesn’t care, Only those who fight will breathe the freezing winter air. [Instrumental Break - Melodic Piano Solo and Warm Strings] [ Bridge 1 ] The dinner table shatters as the ribs are torn apart, A terrifying birth begins inside a human heart. The pulsing and the pinging of the handheld motion tracker, Marks the coming of the dark and the ultimate attacker. [ Verse 3 ] Acidic blood is burning through the cold and metal decks, Dallas disappears within the dark and deep recesses. In claustrophobic air ducts where the silent shadows creep, The creature grows into a god while all the others sleep. [ Pre-Chorus 3 ] The countdown has started and the ship is set to die, No one hears the screaming when there’s no one in the sky. [ Chorus 3 ] When the system fails and rules are stripped away, Survival is the only price we ever have to pay. The universe is empty and the void is cold and wide, There is nothing but the animal that burns deep down inside. [ Bridge 2 ] Ripley grabs the orange cat and runs for the escape, She sees the metal monster and its long and jagged shape. She sets the self-destruct and leaves Nostromo there to burn, From the belly of the beast there is no way to return. [ Verse 4 ] Inside the shuttle Narcissus she tries to find her peace, But the stowaway is waiting for its moment of release. She blows the airlock open and she shoots the cable line, The hunter drifts away into the black and cold design. [ Pre-Chorus 4 ] The silence is a heavy weight that settles in her chest, She closes up the pod again to find a final rest. [ Final Chorus ] We're fighting for a second just to see another dawn, We're hanging by a thread until the very hope is gone. In the deep and lonely distance where the binary remains, Only blood and iron logic flow inside our tired veins. [ Outro ] The signal fades to static as the shuttle floats away, One survivor dreaming of a safe and distant day. Jonesy purrs in stasis while the metal starts to hum, Waiting for a morning that may never truly come.
