It’s almost here, it’s Christmas time, the season I adore! The table’s set, the tree is up, with ornaments galore, It’s my favorite time of year, in so many different ways But amidst the peace and joy and love are some melancholy days. Yes, in the silent nights I think of you. The heart of every Christmas is the birth of Christ our Lord, He’s the reason for the season, the light unto our world, The hope of life eternal is our precious Christmas gift, And one sweet day we’ll e’er be home with loved ones that we miss. Yes, in the silent nights I think of you. There’s joy in all the glitter sprinkled everywhere around, And happiness unwrapping all the ornaments I found, Joy in joining angel-sing, glory to our newborn King, Christmas carolers and children’s sweet voices echoing. But, in the silent nights I think of you. I remember how the Christmas lights sparkled in your eyes, And joy you brought so thoughtfully with every planned surprise, And that time you glued a flower you saved so carefully, And framed it with our picture as my gift under the tree. Oh, in the silent nights I think of you. Pressing on is pressing in to remember and let go, To live and love and laugh and cry and yearn for Heaven so, To cradle all the memories, so gently like a dove, Then let them take their wings and fly to Heaven high above.
