My New Friend

I never told anyone the story How I caught fire And disappeared My friends were doing their best To cheer me up With another round of beers You were sad and all alone I walked up I took the seat Right next to you You were too busy to notice Sipping on drink number two I guess I came at the right time I’m here to make you smile Looks like it may take A few more rounds We might be here a while Let’s talk this out Like two old friends We just met Well just pretend And act like it Bartender two more drinks For me and my new friend You go first I listen well Give me your story It’s time you tell I’m not here to judge I’m not here to throw blame I’m pretty sure It’s gonna sound the same When I share mine When you hear What I have to say I guess I came at the right time I’m here to make you smile Looks like it may take A few more rounds We might be here a while Let’s talk this out Like two old friends We just met Well just pretend And act like it Bartender two more drinks For me and my new friend I never told anyone the story How I caught fire And dissapeared It was the night we met And shared our first cheers Now we’re burning it up and tearing it down Let the past be the past It’s not so important now I guess I came at the right time I’m here to make you smile Looks like it may take A few more rounds We might be here a while Let’s talk this out Like two old friends We just met Well just pretend And act like it Bartender two more drinks For me and my new friend Bartender two more drinks For me and my new friend Bartender two more drinks For me and my new friend
