New Car Smell

I bought a new car on Saturday. Silver paint. Still had that new-car smell. I sat in the driveway for hours reading the manual like it might help It had one of those fancy touch screens That hooked right up to my phone (somehow), and a backup camera that made me more nervous when I could see all stuff behind me. [chorus] It was Mine on Saturday morning, wrecked on Saturday afternoon Never had a chance to get to know it well So much for the new-car smell I don’t exactly know how it happened. I was trying to merge, I think. There was a black Mercedes beside me, the horn blaring like it had a grudge, And I felt the sudden impact as I was looking at the screen (not the road.) My car's rear end was destroyed And I learned all about tow trucks and insurance that day [chorus | stacked harmonies] It was Mine on Saturday morning, wrecked on Saturday afternoon Never had a chance to get to know it well So much for the new-car smell A few weeks later I was fine again, Tried to forget that awful day I take the bus three stops to work, But I kinda miss that big touchscreen. I even laughed when the driver hit the brakes hard and didn't hear a crash.
