Steampunk 🧬 The Polychron Engine feat. Ving and Theia [steampunk, May 2025]

* Background, skip this for lyrics :) * IRL i'm futurist among other things. I was starting to sketch lyrics for popularizing futurology a bit, how there could be many possible futures but only one realizes with every second. As always, one coincidence leads to another. Theia's escape on "Creationf of Theia" with explosions on the city got bigger than expected. So it was natural to broaden the storyline. Here Theia has joined to rebels. They have a mission to transport Polychron Engine to wise AI, who could use it as a help of intended revolution. During transportation, rebel crew's air vehicle is shot down. They make forced landing onto isolated island on Faraday Archipelago just above clouds. They try to build new air vehicle from odd elements of this island. * Lyrics * [Verse 1] [Singer: Low male 1] We flew through dusk with forbidden flame, a box of gears and no known name. Shot from skies by empire's wrath, we crashed where clouds conceal the path. [Verse 2] [Singer: Husky female 1] Ash in lungs and fire in steel, we stood, we swore, we would not kneel. The engine sparked with breaths unseen, a pulse within the Polychron Machine. [Metal guitar solo drop] [Chorus] The engine shows the futures wide, but only one will turn the tide. It glows with time, but doesn’t choose, the choice is ours — to win or lose. [Verse 3] The engine showed us futures split – utopias, collapse, and grit. Peaceful growth and civil war, plagues and gardens, rich and poor. [Verse 4] We fed the core our fear and grace, it showed us time’s unblinking face. No path was bright by default sign, but we could feel which one was mine. [Bridge] We don't know if it will reach the sky, or if the visions tell truth or lie. But building it changed all we see – that’s already the start of being free. [Chorus] The engine shows the futures wide, but only one will turn the tide. It glows with time, but doesn’t choose, the choice is ours — to win or lose. [Outro] Bring the Engine into public light, turn our rule from might to right. The Polychron sings low and wide, our future’s born on winds we ride. [black metal guitar fill] [strings and brass] [Chorus] The engine shows the futures wide, but only one will turn the tide. It glows with time, but doesn’t choose, the choice is ours — to win or lose. [Outro] Bring the Engine into public light, turn our rule from might to right. The Polychron sings low and wide, our future’s born on winds we ride.
