A "quick" personal note: I think I’m not the only one who has a love-hate relationship with Suno. This song cost me over 2k credits. Why? It took ages to get Suno to deliver the vocals the way they are heard now. It took countless attempts to get the instrumentation to sound like it does in the song. And it took even more attempts to integrate the drum instrumental in a way that Suno could process reasonably well. And yet, I am still not entirely satisfied with this song. But I’m leaving it as is because A) it is a listenable version that comes close to my vision, and B) I am not ready to waste any more credits, nerves, and above all, time on this song. What is the problem? I am a musician (duh). But not just on Suno, in real life too. Many of you know that I am a drummer without a band and without time (and sadly, also without a drum kit). That makes it hard for me to properly express my creativity. Of course, I can still fire up FL Studio and build some drum instrumentals, but that is hard enough without musical accompaniment, especially because the drums are an incredibly abstract instrument on their own. Suno comes in very handy for me because it can process at least a part of my creativity (after all, I write most of my lyrics myself and only use AI like Gemini to help with concept creation). The thing is, my creative input is often too much for Suno, which is why I have to hold myself back too often. Also, specifically in V5, the problem is that Suno keeps trying to enforce its own will. That’s why my drum instrumentals often don’t turn out the way I wish, which adds significantly to my frustration. I don't give Suno specific instructions for no reason. So, what now? I will stop making drum instrumentals until Suno can process them better. Otherwise, I’ll continue as before. The album will be finished. Just without my drums. That hurts a lot because a piece of the "human element" is lost from the music, which has ALWAYS been an important point for me. I’m eyeing the AI music debate with particular concern here, specifically regarding "AI slop" flooding and polluting all streaming platforms (Spotify, etc.). There is one thing I really want to leave you with: When you create things in Suno, try not to force yourself onto Suno too much. Suno is unfortunately limited and cannot process too much input. Please restrain yourselves enough so that Suno can bring your creative works to life, and please: Do not force Suno to adapt to you; it just doesn’t work. It is better to adapt to Suno. That might give you the feeling that your creativity is being restricted, but it will cost you far less time, nerves, and especially credits. Thanks to everyone who read this far and I'm really sorry for this wall-of-text, but i needed to vent about it. I wish you lots of fun with "Terminal Velocity". --------------- ⏯️FRGMNT - Terminal Velocity [The New FRGMNT era, Track 7/13] 🔗https://suno.com/playlist/cee403a1-e22b-47c3-97a6-d652b2c9c481 🥁Based on my Drum Instrumental "Corupted" [https://suno.com/s/l3XdcTyHhpr72LqW] 🩵Heyho! I can't breathe! I gave up every second just to win this race. Fuck the fade! [Pre-chorus] I feel the crack, the strain, The fissure in the veins. The weight of every sin burning on the skin. I need the break, the sound, Tear it to the ground. No more velocity. Just take me down! [Chorus] This is the speed I can't quit. Trade the silence for the hit. I want the fix. I'm running down to the ticks. I smash the limit cut every wire can't stop the speed, Lose faith in what I see. Terminal velocity! [Post-chorus] Lose faith in what I see. Terminal velocity! Lose faith in what I see. Terminal velocity! [Verse 2] You watched me break inside your light. I can't breathe! There is no shelter from this fight. The cost is this velocity, a bitter truth to swallow. I built this engine and now I choose where I might follow. I smash the limit cut every wire can't stop the speed, Lose faith in what I see. Terminal velocity! [Bridge] Is this the cost of running free, or just the price? I'll hold the pedal to the metal 'til I lose my sight. Fuck this shit! [Chorus] This is the speed I can't quit. Trade the silence for the hit. I want the fix. I'm running down to the ticks. I smash the limit cut every wire can't stop the speed, Lose faith in what I see. Terminal velocity! [Outro] Lose faith in what I see Terminal velocity! Lose faith in what I see.
