Verse 1 I didn’t always see it when I was in the rain, couldn’t read the reason, only felt the pain, every step felt heavy, every thought the same, like I was movin’ forward but stuck in place. I kept askin’ questions I couldn’t solve, tryna piece together what it all involved, but I couldn’t see past what was goin’ wrong, didn’t know You were there the whole time. I thought if it hurt, then it must not be right, thought if it was You, it would feel more light, but I didn’t understand how You shape a life through the moments we don’t even recognize. Now I look back different, now I see the thread, how You held me together when I felt misled, how You kept me movin’ when I thought I was dead in the middle of the weight I couldn’t escape. You never left, even when I couldn’t feel You, even when I doubted, even when I didn’t choose to trust what You said, I was stuck in my view, but You still stayed close and You carried me through. That’s the part I didn’t see in the moment, that’s the part that changed everything I know now, You were workin’ behind what I called broken, and You never once turned around. So I’m not just thankin’ You for the highs, not just for the times when I felt alive, I’m thankin’ You for every tear I cried, every moment that built what I have inside. Even when I didn’t understand the plan, even when it didn’t make sense in my hands, You were still workin’ something I couldn’t stand to look at then—but I see it now. Hook I say thank You in the middle of it all, when I rise, when I slip, when I stand, when I fall, I don’t need to see it just to answer the call, I just trust what You do even when it feels small. Through God the Father, I know there’s a plan, through Jesus my Savior, I’m held in His hands, through the Spirit that leads, I don’t have to understand, I say thank You in the middle—I’m trustin’ again. Verse 2 There were nights I didn’t know what to say, felt like every prayer just faded away, like I was speakin’ but it didn’t land, like I was reachin’ but I couldn’t stand. And I questioned if I was doin’ it right, if I missed somethin’, if I lost the light, but even in that You stayed by my side, even when I couldn’t feel Your presence. Now I know it wasn’t silence, it was growth, it was buildin’ something deeper in my soul, it was teachin’ me how to let go control, and trust in a truth I don’t gotta hold. That’s hard when you used to run your own way, when you used to think you had to create every outcome just to feel okay, but You showed me different, and I had to change. Through Jesus Christ, I don’t carry that weight, I don’t live in fear, I don’t stay in that place, I’ve been given new life, I’ve been covered in grace, and I don’t gotta earn what You already gave. That right there shifted how I respond, I don’t panic no more when things feel wrong, I don’t fall apart when I don’t feel strong, I just lean into You and keep movin’ on. Through the Spirit I’m led when I can’t see ahead, when I don’t know the next move, I don’t fill with dread, He reminds me again I’m already led, I don’t gotta force it, I don’t gotta press. And God the Father, You steady my ground, when I feel uncertain, You don’t let me drown, You lift me above what’s tryin’ to weigh me down, and remind me again I’m safe right now.
