**Verse 1:** Demetrius heard of Nicanor’s fall, Sent Bacchides and Alcimus with a call. Judas stood with chosen few, In Eleasa, his faith so true. **Chorus:** Jonathan's stand, brave and bold, In the face of foes, his story told. With trust in God and brother's name, He fought with courage, undying flame. **Verse 2:** Bacchides came with mighty force, Against Judea, took their course. Judas faced them, eight hundred strong, Said, “We fight, we don’t flee along.” **Chorus:** Jonathan's stand, brave and bold, In the face of foes, his story told. With trust in God and brother's name, He fought with courage, undying flame. **Bridge:** The battle raged from morn till night, Judas fell, but not the fight. Jonathan rose in brother’s place, To lead the people, by God’s grace. **Verse 3:** In wilderness they made their stand, By Jordan’s stream, a faithful band.
