[Verse 1] Grease on the stove Coffee gone cold Ash in the sink Story getting old Bare feet on tile Morning off key You stirring that pot While you’re stirring on me [Chorus] Got these lowdown kitchen blues Crumbs on the counter Truth on the floor You said “baby It’s me or the booze” And the bottle walked me right out the door Ooh These lowdown Lowdown kitchen blues [Verse 2] You cracked that egg Called out my lies Yolk running thin Like my alibis You wiped that ring Off your left hand Set it by the salt Said “choose where you stand” [Chorus] Got these lowdown kitchen blues Crumbs on the counter Truth on the floor You said “baby It’s me or the booze” And the bottle walked me right out the door Ooh These lowdown Lowdown kitchen blues (yeah) [Bridge] Now it’s one fork One plate One chair hanging on I keep talking to your shadow Till the coffee’s gone [Chorus] Got these lowdown kitchen blues Crumbs on the counter Truth on the floor You said “baby It’s me or the booze” And the bottle walked me right out the door Ooh These lowdown Lowdown kitchen blues (oh yeah) Lowdown kitchen blues
