I Walk Free

Kind of a deeper thought building off “We’re All We Hate,” which has to do with Projection and Blame being cast outwardly. Blame can be turned inward, too. When this happens, we’ll face inner decay like rot and old bones from past regrets and grief. One will do well to spot the small flicker of hope under their scars, because it leads to action like cutting regret’s pull, breaking and bleeding through ruins, balancing oneself in stillness, and sifting through the ashes. One should be strong and ascend freely into calm like a vast sea where waves flow harmlessly. ***************************************************************************************** [Verse 1] Rot in my chest, old bones in my breath, Every step feels rusted, every thought, a threat. Hands shake at the mirror, past stains on my face, All the “should’ve”s choking all this wasted space. [Pre-Chorus] But there’s a flicker, Right under the scar. Small as a whisper, Still, it’s a start. [Chorus] Oh, rot and pain, I will ascend, Cut the pull of regrets, cut the hem. I break, I bleed, I find my feet, Out of the ruins of me, I walk free. [Verse 2] Grief grabs at my ankles, names me by my sins, Tries to drag me backward, back to where I’ve been. But I breathe and I balance, let the memories pass, Let the storm run circles while I sit in the grass. [Pre-Chorus] And there’s a flicker, Right under the scar. Small as a whisper, Still, It’s a start. [Chorus] Oh, rot and pain, I will ascend, Cut the pull of regrets, cut the hem. I break, I bleed, I find my feet, Out of the ruins of me, I walk free. [Bridge] Deep in the quiet, thought after thought, I sift through the ashes, keep what I want. I stay, I stay when the doubts rush in, Strong in the stillness, soft in my skin. [Chorus] Oh, rot and pain, I will ascend, Cut the pull of regrets, cut the hem. I break, I bleed, I find my feet, Out of the ruins of me, I walk free. [Outro] Eternal calm like a wide, wide sea, Every wave that hits just flows through me. ******************************************************** Copyright © 2026 Holy Beast Records.
