[Verse 1] There was a war in heaven, thunder in the sky Michael and his angels stood with fire in their eyes The dragon fought against them, but he could not prevail He lost his place in heaven and his kingdom fell [Pre-Chorus] The accuser was defeated, his power could not stand Victory was written by the Savior’s wounded hands [Chorus] By the blood of the Lamb, we overcome By the word of our testimony, the battle is won We will stand for Jesus till our race is done We have overcome by the blood of the Lamb [Verse 2] That ancient serpent fallen, the deceiver cast below The one who brought accusation had nowhere left to go Then heaven raised a mighty voice, salvation had arrived The kingdom of our God had come, His people stood alive [Chorus] By the blood of the Lamb, we overcome By the word of our testimony, the battle is won We will stand for Jesus till our race is done We have overcome by the blood of the Lamb [Verse 3] They did not fear the darkness, they did not love their lives More than they loved the Savior who had paid the highest price Their testimony rang out like a bell across the land Forever they were covered by the blood of Heaven’s Lamb [Bridge] No accusation can condemn the ones He has redeemed The cross became our victory, greater than we dreamed The enemy is fallen, Jesus wears the crown And every child of God can say, “He’ll never hold me down” [Chorus] By the blood of the Lamb, we overcome By the word of our testimony, the battle is won We will stand for Jesus till our race is done We have overcome by the blood of the Lamb [Outro] Let the heavens sing His glory, let the faithful take their stand Our victory is forever by the blood of the Lamb [The End]
