I was that kid that never had much Some things never added up I was the bad one from the mad bunch Never really had a dads touch Mother was a saint.. I give her that A lot she gave me I wish I could give it back My brother was like the father I never had My sister was the missing link god gave us back See every angel on this earth has a damaged wing A broken halo wasn’t ever stopping me My mother always knew I was the problem seed But she didn’t know she birthed a prodigy Cuz now I’m paving paths that weren’t ever paved Found a way to empty out the bottled rage Through every word I jot on an empty page Through every rock I lift and get to set in place I’m learning that my life is the one I make It’s Important to maintain a healthy mental state When I almost died I had to meditate It took some time I had to elevate Now I’m halfway through life counting grains of sand All the memories mixing slipping through my hands Trying to make a difference while I’m here and can Now I get to watch my kids all laugh and play Proud to see em follow on the path I made Looking back it’s like I got it made All the years of being trapped I finally got away Finally got my life back on the right track “Look at everything I’ve done” Yeah it was a hard fight but I’m alright “Look at how far I’ve come” Now I’m halfway through life counting grains of sand All the memories mixing slipping through my hands Trying to make a difference while I’m here and can
