[Verse 1] I walk the black path slow Boots on the frozen road One little flame in my hand Bobbing like a small brave heart Names in the cold wind call I answer with my light One for the lost tonight One for the ones who slipped away [Pre-Chorus] Keep your step behind me Follow the amber line If your feet grow weary I will hold the dark [Chorus] Guiding souls home Guiding souls home Lantern glow, lantern glow Through the forever night Guiding souls home Guiding souls home One small fire in my palm Till the morning finds us [Verse 2] There’s a gate in the pines Moss on the iron latch I’ve seen the sorrow there And the soft hands reaching back No one walks alone When the hill is steep I know the way by heart Even when the stars go deep [Pre-Chorus] Keep your step behind me Follow the amber line If your feet grow weary I will hold the dark [Chorus] Guiding souls home Guiding souls home Lantern glow, lantern glow Through the forever night Guiding souls home Guiding souls home One small fire in my palm Till the morning finds us [Bridge] When my own flame shakes And my knees grow thin I lift it higher For the ones still calling in [Final Chorus] Guiding souls home Guiding souls home Lantern glow, lantern glow Through the forever night Guiding souls home Guiding souls home One small fire in my palm Till the morning finds us
