[Verse 1] I don’t like to stay home long I’m in the river by dawn I can swim clean and fast I can cross it in one breath Deep down there, they wait Mermaids in the dark water They grab your legs and grin Then they drag you to the bottom [Pre-Chorus] I’m not a lazy person I have a lot to do I don’t lounge on the sofa I got work to get through [Chorus] I’m not lazy I have a lot to do I’m not lazy I don’t stay home for you I love to work I love to move I’m not lazy I have a lot to do [Verse 2] Then one day, mid-stroke Something locked on my leg I knew right then and there It was mermaids in the bed I went down and looked There were so many of them Pulling me to their home Like I’d join their little crowd [Pre-Chorus] Maybe they wanted me To be one of their kind But that wasn’t my plan No, I had work on my mind [Chorus] I’m not lazy I have a lot to do I’m not lazy I don’t stay home for you I love to work I love to move I’m not lazy I have a lot to do [Verse 3] So I grabbed those tails Grabbed hair in both my hands And threw them to the shore One by one in the sand They swam away from me But I caught them again Pulled them up on land And the whole thing went insane [Bridge] My dad came out smiling He knew just what to do He put them in a barrel And covered them with salt Salted mermaid meat That’s the way we live Full of protein, full of power That’s the life I give [Chorus] I’m not lazy I have a lot to do I’m not lazy I don’t stay home for you I love to work I love to move I’m not lazy I have a lot to do [Outro] I love eating mermaid meat I eat a lot of it That’s why my legs are pretty That’s why they stay so slim I’m not lazy I have a lot to do aaa uuu
