[Jason] Hey Charlie [Charlie] Yeah, Boss? [Jason] Apparently A-i killed art [Charlie] Really Boss? That's an Art lost! [Jason] Apparently [Jason] ART IS DEAD Pack it up Everybody go on home Somebody typed "cinematic" on a goddamn phone No brush No tape No blood on the floor Just type what you want and ask the robot for more Songs in thirty seconds Movies before lunch Six fingers on a cowboy but apparently that's art We automated talent We deleted the grind Now creativity's a dropdown with "enhance" underneath the line And don't tell me it's a tool I know that trick A-i ain't creating It's statistically guessing shit Humanity is doomed Anyhoo, Charlie tighten that section [Charlie] Done BOSS! [Jason] Thanks [David] You hear yourself? You made my point before I got to the mic Every generation sees a tool and says the future isn't right Painters saw photography Tape watched digital arrive Editors left razor blades when timelines came alive A camera doesn't make the movie The filmmaker does A DAW doesn't write the record The musician chooses the sound A prompt doesn't make good art just because a frontier model is around Tools expand the canvas People still decide If the work is empty don't blame the hammer Blame the carpenter inside [Jason] ART IS DEAD! [David] You said that before [Jason] A-I KILLED MUSIC! [David] Then why make one more? [Jason] THIS IS DIFFERENT! [David] Explain it [Jason] Not now [David] Convenient [Jason] Charlie mute David Look Real art takes suffering Preferably years and years An unhealthy relationship Maybe unpaid careers You need twenty-seven cables and a room that smells like dust If somebody makes something easily I immediately lose trust Give me tape hiss Give me feedback Give me knobs nobody knows Digital ruined analog Streaming ruined CDs CDs ruined vinyl Vinyl probably ruined something See? There's a lineage here A cultural crime Every tool after the one I learned showed up after its time That's science Probably Don't Google it yet I'm making an argument I haven't finished moving the net! [David] That's nostalgia with drums! You don't measure creativity by how inconvenient it becomes If faster means fake calculators killed math Word processors murdered writing GPS destroyed maps Digital cameras killed photography Except more photographers were made Bedroom studios killed music Except more musicians got laid New tools lower barriers That doesn't promise quality And yes There's A-i garbage Heaps of slop But humans filled the internet with garbage before robots dropped Bad work isn't proof the medium has no soul Better tools don't automatically make you good [Jason] Okay That was unnecessarily reasonable [David] You asked for a debate... [Jason] You asked for a debate X gave you a firing squad So I made a rap battle [David] Using A-i [Jason] We're not discussing production Fine! Here's the danger Infinite content Infinite noise A million fake singers with interchangeable voices Movies with no cameras Actors who never existed Everybody's a studio Nobody's actually gifted Generate ten thousand pictures then call number eight great Where's the risk? Where's the failure? Where's somebody learning the craft? Where's the terrible first attempt we're supposed to laugh at? If everything's instant what happens to taste? If everything's possible what makes something great? Maybe creativity survives Maybe humanity won't But if the robot asks for admin access I'm still saying no [David] Now THAT is a question Volume changes culture Attention gets flooded But scarcity never made something meaningful on its own Taste still matters Direction matters more Knowing when to stop before it turns into A-i slop Knowing why this frame stays while another gets dropped The tool doesn't remove judgment It increases the choices you face When everybody can generate curation becomes part of the race The future isn't human versus machine in a cage It's humans deciding what deserves to leave the page Hate the output Challenge the training Question the cost Those are real conversations But "new tool equals lost?" We've heard that song every time creation evolved And somehow humans kept making art through it all [Jason] ART IS DEAD! [David] Still breathing [Jason] A-I KILLED MUSIC! [David] You're literally live streaming [Jason] CREATIVITY'S OVER! [David] Then what did we make? [Jason] A legally complicated philosophical mistake [David] So where exactly does a tool become cheating? [Jason] When somebody else uses it better than me [Charlie] Should I save that? [Jason] Absolutely not [Charlie] Saved [Jason] Goddammit more A-i sloppity slop, slop. SlopKin [Banjo outro]
