Anointed to Set the Captive Free-Luke 4.18

Intro The Spirit of the Lord is here, His presence drawing near. Good news is rising in the dark, A flame is lighting every heart. Verse 1 Jesus came to bring good news to the poor, To open every prison door. To speak a freedom chains can't hold, To heal the broken, lift the low. The weary hear His voice of grace, The hopeless see a brand-new day. Where sorrow once had filled the night, Christ's mercy brings the morning light. Pre-Chorus And every captive, hear the call, Jesus is the Savior for us all. Every wounded heart can rise— There is freedom in His eyes. Chorus The Lord Jesus tells us: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, He has anointed me to go. To preach good news to the broken, To tell the lost they’re not alone. To set the captives free, To make the blind eyes see, To lift the oppressed from the ground"— Yes, Christ's kingdom of freedom is here now. Verse 2 He reaches out to those unseen, To every soul caught in between. No chain is stronger than His love, No darkness hides His light above. He speaks a word, and hearts awake, He walks beside the ones who break. The forgotten are remembered still, And wounded hearts begin to heal. Bridge Jesus brings freedom for the captive, Sight for the blind, Hope for the broken, Peace for the mind. Good news to the poor, Mercy to the weak, Christ's kingdom is coming— So hear the Savior speak. Final Chorus The Lord Jesus tells us: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, He has anointed me to go. To preach good news to the broken, To tell the lost they’re not alone. To set the captives free, To make the blind eyes see, To lift the oppressed from the ground"— Yes, Christ's kingdom of freedom is here now. Outro The Spirit of the Lord is here...
