Loose standalone adaptation of a storyline in a project of mine called the Cores-verse. Start of Act 7 & Chapter 3. Song #35 in the Vampiria album. https://suno.com/playlist/48a703f5-8d8c-4708-a575-748a288033bd (storyline is in song order). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [Intro] Traitor? Hmph, think again. [Chorus] Your duty Is to our kind It's to grant us wings Not to save the world It's you who's lost the plot It's us who've been left to rot It's them... Once more we'll hunt! [Verse] Why should we care About the wider world We've been shunned so long Caged up monsters Left in misery Left just to suffer Left endlessly lonely Allowing hatred to fester [Chorus] Your duty Is to our kind It's to grant us wings Not to save the world It's you who's lost the plot It's us who've been left to rot It's them... Once more we'll hunt! [Verse] A yearning for companionship Led to an incident Turning them more like us A way we can cure loneliness And how did that end again? Oh, right... [Break] When the dhampirs Couldn't be restrained We, for the sake of the world Slaughtered our beloved companions Did they understand our plight? Were they grateful? Did they mourn? ... No. They just called us evil. [Bridge] If this world deems us so Then let it be so We must become what they fear Bring back the dhampir Once we spread across the globe... I'll reap what I'm owed. [Outro] Your duty is to our kind Not to humans or any other species Us. You, Avatar, are the traitor.
