Kagami: Hello! Rio: Lately, I've been rereading my personal timeline again. A few years ago, I wrote down everything I could remember from my birth up until that point in my life. Kagami: That sounds nostalgic. Did something catch your attention? Rio: Yeah. There was something in those old writings that made me stop and think. So I wanted to share it. Kagami: I see. And you're going to talk about it here? Rio: W-well, yeah. This was something I also wrote about in my high school diary. One day, I suddenly realized something. That person... the girl who helped me so much back then... The reason she existed at all was because her parents brought her into this world. Kagami: The girl you were in love with back then♪ Rio: I don't think it was anything noble enough to call love... But anyway... The moment I realized that, I felt overwhelmed with gratitude toward her parents. Kagami: That makes sense. Because there were people who brought her into the world and raised her, you were able to meet her. Rio: Back then, I remember writing something like: "Maybe I'm just stupid for feeling grateful over something like this. But if that's what being stupid means, then I'm happy to be stupid." Kagami: I think that's perfectly fine. If the gratitude is genuine, that's all that matters. Rio: What I didn't realize back then was that it wasn't just her parents. Every person who had interacted with her, every experience she had, helped shape the person she became. And if that's true... Then I was indirectly feeling grateful toward countless people I had never even met. Kagami: That's true. If even one thing had been different, the two of you might never have met. When you think about it that way, meeting someone really is a miracle. Rio: And once I started thinking like that, I found myself wanting to feel grateful toward all kinds of people. The people I've met. The people who created the works I love. The things that inspired those creators. The people who provide water and electricity and support my life from behind the scenes. The people who share knowledge online that I never would have discovered myself. Even people who spread negativity or say hurtful things... Sometimes they still teach me something new. Nothing is completely wasted. That's the kind of thing I wrote back then. Kagami: Yeah. You've often told yourself, "Be grateful for everything you've encountered." But it's easy to forget all the people behind other people's lives too. Rio: Because I never met them directly. But even people I'll never know have their own lives. Their own stories. Their own struggles. Everyone is the protagonist of their own life. And I'm the protagonist of mine. Every person deserves love, respect, and dignity. If I can respect myself and respect others too... Maybe that's what it truly means to live according to your own values. Reading those old words again helped me realize that. I'd like to keep living with that feeling. Kagami: Sounds like it was a really meaningful reflection♪ Rio: Maybe it was. I've heard people say before that other people exist to help us discover who we truly are. And now... I think I understand what that means. In a way, everyone exists for my growth. And from my perspective, this really feels like a world created for me. Kagami: And everyone else has their own world too♪ Rio: Exactly. So if someone who has crossed paths with me can learn something, or discover something, through our encounter... That would make me happy too. Kagami: I see♪ So that's what you wanted to talk about today? Rio: W-well... yeah. I thought I'd share it. Maybe it's not a very important story, but that's okay, right? Kagami: The whole point was to help you organize your feelings. I'd say that's enough♪ Rio: Honestly, I probably should've turned these thoughts into actual lyrics... But it's kind of embarrassing, so maybe not. Kagami: Posting this entire conversation isn't really any less embarrassing. Rio: ......... W-well then! Let's stop here for today. Thank you for listening until the end♪ Kagami: And may today and tomorrow be wonderful days for all of you♪
