I’ve read your words a hundred times, while nights fall softly over town. The hallway still remembers them, that quiet velvet, soft and deep, like something left without a name for someone who can’t sleep. I turn the card between my hands, your careful line still written there. No answers in the ink you chose, just something gentle in the air. “Never let your hope grow silent…” It moves between the lines I read, and silence sometimes says enough for hearts that know what words won’t speak. You wouldn’t send me roses if there was nothing left to find, and you wouldn’t guard your silence if the truth was simple, kind. So I won’t ask the same way anymore, not like I did before. I’ve walked these streets a hundred nights, through smoke and broken melody, from whispered names to empty eyes that never turned to look at me. They used to hear me moving slow, from table light to shadowed bar, a photograph held to the glow, Asking every passing uniform. Did you know my Tom? But something in your silence turned a question into flame, and now the night feels different, like it’s calling out his name. Now I know what I must do. I won’t wait for answers anymore. Now… I’ll follow where your silence leads. I’ll find the truth I need to know Maybe truth is not a kindness, maybe truth is something sharp, something buried in the city, somewhere beating like a heart. And if it breaks the quiet open, if it tears this world apart, I would rather face the darkness than keep guessing in the dark. They’ll ask about me in the barrooms: “Where’s that girl who used to roam? The one who asked a thousand strangers if they ever knew her Tom?” They’ll say I stopped one evening, didn’t say where I would go, just left the question in the music where the trumpet lingers low. And somewhere through the fading night, a voice they still recall… ... did you know my Tom? ✦✧•⸻⸻ •✦• ⸻⸻•✧✦ © 2026 ᒪᎥᒎᗩ Official artist profile: https://suno.com/@lijanna
