[Verse 1] For all the miles we traveled, For every truth we shared, For every voice that wrote me To say somebody cared— You were never just an audience, You became my faithful friends, And though this chapter closes, What God began won’t end. [Chorus] The microphone grows quiet, But the message carries on. The Lord who led me to you Is still leading me along. I’ll cherish every memory, Every prayer and every song. The microphone grows quiet, But the message carries on. [Verse 2] Now God has called me forward To shepherd and to serve, To preach the cross of Jesus And stand upon His Word. I leave with tears of gratitude, But I know where I belong. The voice is changing places, But the message carries on. [Chorus] The microphone grows quiet, But the message carries on. The Lord who led me to you Is still leading me along. I’ll cherish every memory, Every prayer and every song. The microphone grows quiet, But the message carries on. [Bridge] This is not the end, my friends, Just a different road ahead. Keep your eyes upon the Savior, Keep believing what He said. [Final Chorus] The microphone grows quiet, But the message carries on. Until we meet in glory, May you faithfully press on. Thank you for the years beside me, For the love that made us strong. The microphone grows quiet, But the message carries on.
