--- Ok, now THIS is more like it for Grunge . . . lol. Really liked how this one came together. After bringing people to the Temple of Pearls, I figured the next step would be to sort of have a historical tribute song to the music style and those that performed it. Got some references to grunge songs built into the lyrics and of course had to make it all about the Seattle Underground. The cadence and the music is spot on for what I was hoping for. Suno also did some nice things with the lyrics adding in some Adlibs that honestly I wish I had put in there myself . . . lol. I was listening to the end and said to myself "I really wish it would repeat that line, but louder." and . . . it did! "You can hear it now!" Awesome! :-) ~David --- [Musical Introduction] [Low, muffled guitar riff, slightly detuned — sounds like it’s bleeding through basement walls] [Loose, swinging drums — imperfect, human] [Verse 1] Beneath the rain-soaked alley lights Where the ceilings sweat and crack Kids with fire in their throats And nothing left to pack Borrowed amps and broken hands Truth carved into sound They didn’t ask to save the world They just turned it upside down [Pre-Chorus] No polish, no permission Just scars turned into songs Every note a small rebellion Every silence gone [Chorus] We stand on shoulders bruised and proud Of the ones who came before From basement walls to stages loud They kicked in every door From the depths where nothing’s safe And every voice goes raw They struck a nerve the world still feels That’s the Sound of the Seattle Underground [Verse 2] There was a boy who spoke in whispers Till the quiet broke in two Did his tragedy save others Who were hanging by a noose? There was a spirit in the hallway Smelled like sweat and teenage doubt Now it’s bottled up and labeled Still don’t know what it’s about [Musical Interlude] [Bass-led groove, grimy and hypnotic — guitar feedback pulses like distant sirens] [Pre-Chorus] They tried to sell the revolution Shrink it down to size Turn a scream into a slogan So it fits between the lines [Chorus] We stand on shoulders bruised and proud Of the ones who came before From basement walls to stages loud They kicked in every door From the depths where nothing’s safe And every voice goes raw They struck a nerve the world still feels That’s the Sound of the Seattle Underground [Verse 3] Is there still love on the interstate Or did it miss the exit sign? Got buried under vinyl dreams And deadlines dressed as time They said the scene was over Like you can kill a truth But echoes don’t obey the dirt They just wait on you [Bridge] This wasn’t fashion This wasn’t cool This wasn’t built to last It was a mirror held to broken kids Who never planned a past They sang about the damage So we wouldn’t feel alone If you hear yourself in the feedback You already know [Breakdown / Drop] [Drums cut — vocal nearly whispered] From the underground… We learned how to be loud [Final Chorus] We stand on shoulders bruised and proud Still feeling every chord From rainy nights and rusted dreams A sound the world ignored Play it crooked, play it loud Let it crawl back through the walls Because the truth still shakes the ground When the Seattle Underground calls [Outro] They never meant to start a movement They just told the truth out loud If you’re listening… You can hear it now [Musical Ending] [Fade Out] [End]
