[Verse] He stood on the watchtower looking to the sky Asking the questions no one dared to try Why do the wicked thrive and the righteous fall He whispered to the heavens where is justice at all [Verse 2] The vision came clear though the waiting felt so long Write it on tablets so it won’t steer you wrong The righteous will live by faith when times are thin Even in the darkness trust the light within [Chorus] Though the fig tree’s bare and the fields yield no grain Though the vineyards wilt under the drought’s cruel strain I will rejoice in the Lord's steady name Through the deepest valley His love stays the same [Verse 3] He spoke of the nations their rise and their doom Tales of the earth fading and cities consumed The justice will come no evil can hide The God of glory will humble the pride [Bridge] How long O Lord will the silence remain Injustice like fire burning through the plain Yet I'll stand here waiting for Your word to reveal Your mercy like thunder heaven’s unbroken seal [Chorus] Though the fig tree’s bare and the fields yield no grain Though the vineyards wilt under the drought’s cruel strain I will rejoice in the Lord's steady name Through the deepest valley His love stays the same
