[Challlenge: RD 7] No Woman should kneel - ByDOTš„
This is a part of a private challenge on ByDOT server. š **Theme: Creatures of Mythology** š **Genre: Zenonesque** This song is inspired by four female figures from ancient mythology ā Medusa, Daphne, the Propoetides and the Minyades ā and reinterprets their stories through a modern lens of autonomy, freedom of belief, boundaries and the right to say no. Although the song speaks directly to women, its message belongs to everyone, regardless of gender. Your body is yours. Your mind is yours. Your beliefs are yours. Your boundaries are yours. Everyone has the right to say NO. ___________________ Ā© 2026 #ByDOTš„ ā All Rights Reserved //NO WOMAN SHOULD KNEEL - ByDOTš„ [INTRO] Four names... carried through the centuries. Four warnings... hidden inside their punishment. Medusa. Daphne. Propoetides. The Minyades. Remember their names. [VERSE 1 ā MEDUSA] Medusa wore the monster's face, but monsters are so often made. A woman marked, a story changed, until the warning bore her name. They feared the eyes that would not fall, the gaze that met them standing tall. Across the centuries hear it still: No means no. No always will. Medusa... Do not look away. Medusa... Let your NO remain. [VERSE 2 ā DAPHNE] Daphne ran from hands that claimed desire itself gave right to chase. She chose the branches, chose the leaves, before surrendering herself. Her feet took root. Her arms grew green. A living boundary stood between. And every leaf still seems to say: My body is mine. Turn away. [PRE-CHORUS] Body. Mind. Faith. Choice. Body. Mind. Faith. Voice. [CHORUS] So WOMAN ā do not chain yourself with the shackles they hand to you. Learn from Medusa: your NO belongs to you. Learn from Daphne: your body belongs to you. No god, no ruler, no lover, no crowd gets to decide what lives inside you now. Your body is yours. Your mind is yours. Your faith is yours. Your NO is yours. So WOMAN ā do not wear their chains. [VERSE 3 ā PROPOETIDES] Propoetides would not bow, would not call a goddess divine. You may demand the spoken words ā you cannot command the mind. Believe! They said. Bow! They said. Worship! They said. No. If disbelief deserves the stone, then stone is what we'll become. But stone does not confess. And stone does not kneel. [MANTRA] You cannot order belief. You cannot order belief. You cannot order belief. My faith is mine. [VERSE 4 ā THE MINYADES] The Minyades heard the calling crowd, the drums commanding everyone out. Come join. Come dance. Come worship now. But they remained. They chose their ground. And when the many move as one, the lonely NO can weigh a ton. Still they teach us from long ago: A thousand YES cannot erase one NO. [BRIDGE] They called them wicked. They called them faithless. They called them monsters. They called them wrong. Strange... how often history finds an ugly name for those who won't obey. Medusa ā my NO. Daphne ā my body. Propoetides ā my faith. Minyades ā my choice. My NO. My body. My faith. My choice. [FINAL CHORUS] So WOMAN ā do not chain yourself with the shackles they hand to you. Their rules are not your conscience. Their fear is not your truth. Your body is yours. Your mind is yours. Your faith is yours. Your NO is yours. You may stand alone when a thousand voices shout. You may question what they forbid you to doubt. You may leave. You may refuse. You may believe ā or choose not to. So WOMAN ā do not wear their chains. [OUTRO] Medusa... Daphne... Propoetides... Minyades... Four old stories. One lesson. Do not wear their chains. Ā© 2026 #ByDOTš„ ā All Rights Reserved
