Trail to the Nations

[Verse 1] Paul and Barnabas preached that day In Iconium, they spoke the way With signs and wonders in the crowd Some believed and cried out loud But hearts got split, and threats grew near They stayed with boldness, stayed sincere Then came the stones, then came the run Yet mercy carried them on [Pre-Chorus] The Lord was with them The word kept moving The grace kept proving He was the One [Chorus] God sent them out God led the way Town to town They preached and prayed God sent them out He kept the flame Jesus saves And heals the same [Verse 2] In Lystra, a lame man stood Paul saw his faith and called for good He leaped up strong on trembling feet The whole place rose to praise in the street But some said, "They are gods come down" A crowd got wild from town to town Paul and Barnabas tore their clothes "Turn from vain things," their witness rose [Pre-Chorus] The living God Made earth and sea He gives us breath And sets us free [Chorus] God sent them out God led the way Town to town They preached and prayed God sent them out He kept the flame Jesus saves And heals the same [Verse 3] Then men from Antioch came And stirred up loss, and stirred up shame Paul got stoned and left for dead But got back up and went ahead Back in the church they told the news How Gentile doors were opening too The Spirit fell, the saints stood tall Grace was for the one and all [Bridge] When the fight got hard They stayed in faith When the road got rough They ran the race No heavy yoke Can save the soul By grace alone He makes us whole [Chorus] God sent them out God led the way Town to town They preached and prayed God sent them out He kept the flame Jesus saves And heals the same [Outro] Paul and Barnabas, still on fire Testifying higher and higher To the nations, far and near The risen Lord was preached sincere
