What on earth is wrong with us? Ignorance. Pollution. Disturbance. The rivers carry plastic. The forests carry smoke. These warnings. Aren’t they enough? Aren’t enough. We watched the seasons lose their names. We watched the oceans rise. Still counting profit while the daylight disappeared before our eyes. Ignorance and delusion. The earth doesn’t need us. It turned beneath our careless feet while we wait for someone else. Blindly carrying on. Running out of air. Hope keeps leaving quietly. Nobody seems to care. The sky comes down around us. The water takes the shore. We always wanted everything. Then wanted even more. They teach you who to fear. They sell you someone else’s blood. They polish every weapon and call the killing good. They throw us off the scent. They redraw every line. They place a flag above the graves and tell you it was right. Children learn the sound of sirens before they learn to read. Men who never see the bodies still decide what nations need. We understood when it was already too late: the truth was buried underneath a thousand speeches, empty prayers and manufactured grief. Blindly carrying on. Running out of names. Every city burns the same beneath a different claim. The ground gives way beneath us while we argue who should act. We build another border while the fields and bodies burn. We bought convenience by the ton. We threw tomorrow out. We called our hunger freedom. We called our blindness justice. Every warning was exaggerated. Every limit was a lie. Someone else would solve it later. Someone else would have to die. We knew enough to stop it. We knew enough to change. But comfort made us stupid, and greed made ruin feel humane. Beyond the poisoned evening light, the storm is moving inland now. No metaphor. No prophecy. Just consequences gathering. Can you hear the engines? Can you hear the trees come down? Can you hear the distant houses emptying without a sound? There is nowhere left to conquer. There is nowhere left to flee. Only mirrors in the rubble showing what we chose to be. Blindly carrying on. Running out of ground. Running out of explanations for the ruin all around. Still armed with self-righteousness. Still looking away. Still tearing down the shelter that could have kept us safe. These warnings were enough. No mercy. No god came down No future came to understand.
